| Maintenance Tips | ||||||||||
|
Vacuum,
sweep or dust mop your flooring on a regular basis. Most homes require once a week, but it will need done more often if you have high traffic, pets, or small children. |

|
|
Wipe
up spills and "accidents" as soon as possible. For ceramic tile
floors, pay special attention to grout areas and for hardwood floors, use soft, dry towels for water spills and soft, slightly damp towels for other kinds of spills. |

|
|
Do
not use harsh abrasives on any flooring unless it's approved by the manufacturer. You may get more information on specialty cleaning products by contacting our store. |

|
Do
not walk on freshly-set (not grouted) tile for the first 24 hours. Once
the tiles are grouted, walking on them needs to be avoided for six to eight hours. The grout will then set firmly enough and damage to the installation will not occur. For bathrooms, walking on the tile needs to be avoided for 24 hours after grouting. |

For
hardwood flooring, remember: only wood with roots still needs watering!! Do not use soap and water nor oil soap to clean hardwood. Use an approved hardwood cleaner such as BONA, or a cleaner made by Bruce--both available at our store. |
